These hogs have become a problem in New Mexico. They are very destructive to crops, other animals and can spread the very dangerous Brucellosis disease to other animals and people. Their range is 2˝ to 3 miles and a heard consists of 3-46. They can produce 10-13 hogs every six months. So far, forty two have been trapped up at sixteen springs on government land. They are aggressive and very dangerous. If you spot them, count them and call the Forest Service or Fish & Wildlife. Fran Trendler suggested the Timberon Development Council, Inc. sponsor providing Frisby Golf at the Mary Glover Park. This was brought up in a previous meeting by Jane Huising. After discussion, it was agreed Everett would present the idea to the Otero County Manager. Rick Merrick advised all fire danger restrictions have been lifted in Otero County. Rick is also working with the Timberon Water & Sanitation District and Manager to see how we can help them.
